Charitable IRA Rollover
Donate at Work
Good News! Congress has extended the IRA charitable rollover provision through December 31, 2012. Under the provision, taxpayers 70 1/2 years or older are allowed to make a tax-free rollover of up to $100,000 from an IRA directly to a qualified charitable organization, such as Arizona Land and Water Trust.   If your company has a charity drive or an employee giving program, or is considering starting one, take a look at the Environmental Fund for Arizona (, a coalition of Arizona's finest conservation and environmental non-profit groups. Your company can become a workplace partner on the Fund's website!   If you are a seller on EBay, you can now designate any portion of a sale to the non-profit organization of your choice through EBay's new online giving program. Earth Friends
If you become a first-time donor or if you increase your gift this year, you will help us meet our Earth Friends Challenge. The Challenge helps pay for our conservation messaging so we can increase support in the community to protect our land and water for future generations.

At the Trust, our outlook is optimistic that a little foresight and support goes a long way.  The Trust has a lengthy track record of leveraging limited resources to make major conservation strides in southern Arizona.

Here are the reasons we conserve land:

  • Scenic vistas and rippling sunsets
  • Open spaces full of Saguaros and the bird and animal life they sustain
  • Knee-high desert grasslands sweeping us to the Sky Island mountain ranges
  • Desert streams, like the San Pedro River and Cienega Creek, which provide oases in the desert
  • Dark night skies that hold the stars

At the end of the day, the Trust has one goal in mind: preserve southern Arizona’s most important landscapes so future generations can also be awed by the region’s Western allure.

Create a Conservation Legacy

Do you wish to make a significant impact on land and water conservation in Arizona? We are fortunate that our lives are enriched by southern Arizona’s unique beauty. You can take action today to fund the future with a legacy gift so that future generations can enjoy the natural wonders that set Arizona apart.

Did you know that...

  • You can receive income for life in exchange for a gift?
  • Giving appreciated property, like stocks or real estate, costs less than giving the equivalent amount in cash?
  • Some assets can benefit you more if you give them away?
  • Some gifts cost nothing now, but leave a legacy later?
  • Some gifts allow you to pass more on to your heirs and save taxes?

Including Arizona Land and Water Trust in your estate plan ensures future generations will benefit from your foresight and that your values will endure.

Please consult your attorney, accountant, or tax advisor for advice on your specific situation. We hope you will notify us should you decide to include Arizona Land and Water Trust in your estate plan. It will give us an opportunity to thank you and talk with you about your wishes for your gift. Please contact Joanne Delaney at 520-577-8564 or e-mail if you wish to discuss how you can leave a lasting legacy.
