Arizona Land and Water Trust has hired Scott McDonald as Deputy Director.
McDonald will manage all day-to-day aspects of the Trust including staff management, financial accounting procedures and project tracking.
His varied career includes stints in the automotive, consumer products and advanced technology sectors with senior management positions at General Motors, Rain Bird and Fluidmaster.
He also has extensive experience in the nonprofit and volunteer fields with Second Harvest Food Bank, the National Urban League and Habitat for Humanity.
McDonald received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Administration from Kettering University (formerly General Motors Institute) in Flint, Michigan, and holds an MBA from Stanford.
The Trust has also hired Mark Fischer as Administrative Coordinator.
Fischer will provide administrative support to the Trust’s executive staff, Land & Water Program and Development team, while also maintaining the record systems and managing all areas of the office facilities, including IT and supplies.
Fischer has a background in insurance, financial analysis and tax preparation, working with several firms in Tucson. He also served more than five years as president of the Board of Directors for the Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Arizona.
He received a bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance from the U of A and a master’s degree from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley.
